Die Firma IMSA GmbH in Brüggen am Niederrhein ist ohne die geringste Übertreibung weltbekannt für das „Veredeln“ von Premiumfahrzeugen, die in puncto Qualität vermutlich nicht zu übertreffen sind. Handgearbeitete Individualität ist alleroberstes Gebot, wenn es um die Herstellung von Hightech-Sicherheits- sowie Hochleistungskomponenten geht. Firmenchef Holger MOHR von der IMSA GmbH hat sich zusammen mit seinem Team einmal mehr den Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG „zur Brust genommen“. Der Fokus für diesen Umbau liegt erneut auf außerordentlich hohen Qualitätsansprüchen. Qualität, gepaart mit Leistung und Individualität, führen zu neuem Luxus namens IMSA S720. Die gewichtsparenden Carbonteile zur Verbesserung der Aerodynamik folgen selbstverständlich den Originallinien und geben dem S720 seinen atemberaubenden Look, eben den bereits erwähnten IMSA-Look. Die speziellen Lufteinlässe geleiten die Luft direkt zum Kühler. Die Seitenschweller folgen dem Motto „weniger ist mehr“. Der Heckdiffusor mit perfekt eingepassten Auspuffendrohren und dem Gitter runden das Bild ab. Für noch mehr Anpressdruck am Heck entwickelte die Crew eine Spoilerlippe für den Kofferraumdeckel. Und die nach Kundenwünschen gefertigten Leichtmetallfelgen CR2 in den Dimensionen 9×21 mit Bereifung in 255-35/21 an der VA bzw. 10,5×21 mit 295-30/21 an der HA reduzieren die substanziell ungefederten Massen, was wiederum das Komfortgefühl beim Fahren spürbar erhöht.
Das Triebwerk bringt nach der Intervention bei IMSA GmbH 720 PS (= 529 kW) sowie 990 Nm max. Drehmoment auf die Waage, unterstützt von hauseigenen Turboladern, Downpipes aus Edelstahl und Kats. Unerlässlich in diesem Zusammenhang ist die optimale Anpassung der gesamten Motor- und Getriebesteuerung. Abschließend sei noch individuelle Neugestaltung des Interieurs überaus lobend erwähnt.

THE NEW S720 FACELIFT – OBVIOUSLY BY IMSA

The special air intakes escort the air directly to the cooler. The side sills follow the theme „less is more“.
The rear diffuser with perfectly adjusted tail pipes and the grille complete the picture. For more contact pressure at the rear, the crew developed a spoiler lip for the trunk lid. And the alloy wheels CR2 – manufactured according to the clientele’s request – in the dimension 9×21 with tires in 255-35/21 on the front axle and 10,5×21 with 295-30/21 at the rear axle reduce the substantial unsuspended masses. That increases the comfortable driving feeling.
After the intervention at IMSA GmbH the engine proves 720 PS (= 529 kW) as well as 990 Nm ft.-lb. on the scale, supported by in-house turbo-chargers, downpipes made of stainless steel and catalysts. In that context, the perfect adjustment of the complete engine- and transmission-management is absolutely crucial. Also, the individual redesign of the interior is to be highly commended.
